    Diet pills
A few years ago I took the diet pill adipex and it worked great at controlling my appetite,
My Dr. put me on this 1 month ago and this time around I can't even tell I'm taking anything.. he also prescribed Meridia and I did not respond to it either.. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with diabetes and now use an insulin pump, why would a diet pill just not work,at least the 1st month on it ?

My question is - are diet pills even considered safe to take when you have diabetes? I would look for other ways to control my weight. Ask your doctor to refer you to either a nutritionist or a dietician.

My diabetes Dr. is the one who put me on both, he's a very respected Endocrinologist and has been voted one of the best. I was surprised also that he prescribed diet pills to me, but he said I was healthy and that I would reduce my risk of developing complications later if I could get the 25 lbs off I have put on since starting a desk job 1 yr ago. I'm not obese but I have packed it on this year going from retail to computer job.. 155 when I started now at 175lbs..

Adipex, also known as Phentermine, and Meridia are both safe with diabetes. However, it takes more than a month to lose the weight. It is much harder for diabetics to lose weight than the average person.

Are you combining these meds with a proper diabetic diet and proper exercise?

These meds will not just melt off the pounds on their own, but will work better in conjunction with diet and exercise.

Adipex is known to be used as a diet pill for those with diabetes, so yes... it has been known to be safe.

If you weren't diabetic during the first diet, that might explain it. After being dianosed with Diabetes myself, I find that I can't eat ANY sugar or ANY carbs that use refined flour. Once I start, it's all downhill and it isn't pretty!

Your cells aren't using sugar the way they should, so you always feel hungry. You have to "retrain" your cells by not eating any sugar. Then they will respond to other food like they did in pre-Diabetes times. It's hard to find food without sugar, but it is possible. I stick to fresh veggies, some fruit, and small portions of lean meat.

If the pill you are using does not help then you should go for some other diet pills that are safe and without any harmful ingredients. You can take capsiplex diet pills as it is made up of complete natural products like capsicum and pepper which would also helpful in reducing the risk of other diseases including obesity, hypertension, diabetes, etc.
