    Air conditiner wire up
    Hello,
I have a very old conditioner witch I need to wire it up.
Can any one help me getting a wire schematic for it ?
Also - I need some color map cause don't know how to tell witch wire is the one I need.
All I can say is that there are 3 main cables (each has some smallers cable) 1 from the outside unit (compressor), 1 from the fan unit and 1 is the main power cable.
It also has a selector switch, capacitor and a thermostat unit.

Now - HOW THE #$@! DO I PLUG IT ALL TOGETHER ?

    Thank you

For the specific schematic for it, you must give the brand and model number. Sometimes there is one a decal on the unit or in a little envelop inside. You can also search the manufacturer's website rather than wait for somebody here to.

In general, you have a large relay or contactor inside the compressor unit. It needs 5 wires to it. 2 small low voltage ones go to the coil not mattering which is which. 2 large ones from the main cable go to line terminals of the contactor, again not mattering. The fifth wire is the bare one in the main cable going to a green screw in the housing.

One of the 2 small wires goes to the common side of a transformer. The other goes to the thermostat along with a hot from the other side of the transformer. If this is a single unit, the fan may be powered off the same contactor as the compressor. If the fan has its own relay, again 5 wires like the compressor. If 120 volt, it may have a single pole relay.
