    Humming water pipes
    The water pipes are humming when no water is running, but will stop when flush toilet or run water. What do I do??

    "Humming pipes" mean water's running somewhere to cause it. Go out to the water meter and check the little pointer. If on a pump check the pressure gage. When all the fixtures in the house are not in use the pointer should not be moving and the pressure gage should read no drop when the pump shuts off. If either of them moves then you have a internal pressure leak. Check and let me know. Tom
