    What to wear to court?
I'm going to court very soon, my sons grandparents on his absent fathers side decided to take me to court after not seeing my son in over 2 years, for visitation. My question is what do I wear! I've never been to court before and I have no idea. Is there a specific color I should wear? Please help.

    Rebbecca,

Dress as you would normally do when you want to blend in. Do not try to be ostentatious in your appearance.

You want to be clean, neat and presentable. Once in the court, do not be informal, answer questions with a yes or a no. Do not expand your answer unless you are directed to.

Please don't punish the grandparents for the sins of their son.

I'm a grandparent and my son's relationship with his daughter's mother is less than ideal. Sometimes, the child's mom, takes those difficulties out on us by denying us the privilege of our granddaughters company.

I would ask you to consider if you are doing that. I would also ask that consider working out a reasonable schedule where the grandparents can see your girl.\

Have they ever done or acted as if they would kidnap the child or are they just asking to see their grandchild.

For us, since there is no such thing as Grandparents Rights in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, my son had to sue for his rights to see his daughter. That worker to our advantage. Our son is living with us while recovering for a crushed foot.

Ironed dress apparal (hope I spelled that right :) )
A nice dress or skirt with a blouse and a jacket.
Something that's not too revealing, but is still nice.
Just use your better judgement and you'll be okay.
    Good Luck!

Thanks for all the info. As for the grandparents I do very much feel sorry for them, I feel their intentions are not good. They have expressed that my son is the ticket to their sons sobriety. They have 5 other grandchildren who they have no contact with. They have never offered any help, money for a ice cream etc.. I pray that the out come will be the best for my sons well being.

You want to dress conservatively. Nothing to tight or revealing. As long as you are neat and clean you should be OK.

Do you have an attorney to help you in court? If you want to protect your kids, then you NEED one, especially if the GPs have one.

If you are going to claim they are just using your son, you need to be able to prove it.
