    Fordyce granules, anemia and hpv
I have this whitening look in the corners of my lips. There is also a little bit starting in the main part of my top lip. It is even a little grainy looking definitely not a bump or lump or wart looking. I have read so many different Q and A's on the net the I am confused. I went to my dr who thought it could be because of a deficiency and it turned out that I am in B12. However the colour change is still there. The dr also prescribed a cream so we shall see.
I have however, found some pics of fordyce granules and that is what it looks like. I also asked my dr if that was possible and he said no, at least not that he thinks basically.
Then there is also a talk of hpv and having things weird on your lips especially the top one which worries me. So far I have been fine in the HPV dept but you never know right. I think it is a little suspicious that people who have HPV also are getting similar issues on their lips.
MY questions isn't for you to tell me what I have but maybe to give an indepth description for everyone between the three and maybe some pictures for comparison... what do you think?

Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Please understand that we are not doctors here and I am only a student nurse. Most likely whatever info we find on the internet will be the same as what you find.

I will tell you though, that HPV is a virus. It can be found anywhere on the body, but particularly on the mouth or genitals. Fever blisters are a form of HPV.

Please follow your doctor's advice, it is much better than any of us can give.

So, fordyce granules are fairly common in all of us. And, to be quite honest, cold sores on your lips are actually a form of herpes; herpes simplex is quite common as well and doesn't mean you have herpes. What do you mean, you are 'in B12'? Does that mean your doctor said you needed additional B12? I can't offer pictures, you can Google them if you want.

This is my interpretation of your questions. I would suggest you don't wish for something to be wrong with you. There are enough of us out here with something wrong.

I don't think it is HPV, it could be cold sore. You may take a photo and post it to the open forum or blog area at anonymous herpes/hpv dating and support site herpes dating, HPV dating, HIV personals. There are many people living with cold sore, herpes or hpv, some of them are very professional.

Doesn't sound super serious to me. My advice is to always see a doctor when in doubt of your health.
