    Won't connect
I have a HP Pavilion dv9000 (laptop) and a Toshiba Sattilite A310 (laptop), and the HP works on the internet fine, but when I connect the Toshiba, it dosen't work. I am using the right port, but it won't let me go online. Is there any way to fix this??

If you're using a cable or a DSL modem, try unplugging the power to the modem before connecting the toshiba. Many times, if different equipment is ocnnected, you have to restart the modem for it to see the new equipment (It records the MAC address of the equipment connected to it, and it won't give out an IP to a different mac unless it's restarted.)

You should also make sure that the connection you're trying to use is enabled in Control Panel > Network Connections.

Click on TOOLS on the top of your browser -- select INTERNET OPTIONS from the

Drop down menu -- Click on SECURITY TAB of INTERNET OPTIONS page --then

Select INTERNET icon and Default Level --should be MEDIUM--and Then OK

Also your FIREWALL may be blocking internet access -- turn it off just to check it

Make sure to keep your firewall on when using the internet -- Much safer

If this helps -- please rate my answer -- Hope this helps someone
