My new tile tub and shower are leaking.
We installed a new tile tub and shower of our own design. It is leaking from the back corner not anywhere near the plumbing. It leaks into the down stairs vent and then onto the floor. We have sealed the tiles and regrouted. We cannot seem to find the leak. It is in the tub portion, we have filled it for a couple of inches and had it leak. HELP!

OK! Let me get this straight. This isn't a manufactured tub but one that you designed and built yourselves. Correct?
If that is so then tell me how high did you run the pan up? You did treat this as a shower and install a pan type shower drain,(see image) and a custom Compaseal shower pan didn't you? Let me hear back about exactly how you built your tub /shower. Regards, Tom

Leaking Shower Drain Tile Floor [ 1 Answers ]

Hi- I purchased this house two years ago and at that point the stand up shower had some sort of sealant that was placed in a very sloppy manner around the drain.
