Is there anything I can do to stop this?
The county sherrif's office issued a "writ of execution" just yesterday afternoon. It apparently was a default judgement entered in against me. They came to my current residence and I let them in and they proceeded to take an active inventory on what they believed to be my personal property for a levy. My two part question is - 1. Can I settle and stave off the levy on my property by settling with the plaintiff. 2. if not how much time would I have before the sherrif's department returns for these items under inventory. As I said they did not perform a possession of my property yet so I am wondering if there is a timeline set fourth where I may be able to stop the levy and just pay the debt owed to the plaintiff? I live in PA.

How much is the Judgment? I've never heard of this (the Sheriff taking inventory). I'm sure it happens (obviously), but wow!

You probably could settle with the plaintiff and stop the levy. Make sure you get everything in writing.
