    What should I do?
I started my period when I was 10 years old. I had them normally until age 15. Then I suddenly quit having them for 8 months. I had to get an HPV shot for school, and one week later they came back. I went to the doctor and they took some blood tests. They said everything was normal, and since I've never had sex, they didn't do any other tests. The periods continued for two months, then quit again. It's been 5 months now, and still no period. Sometimes, I have really bad cramps like I'm menstrating, even though I'm not. I'm starting to get worried, because cancer runs in the family. I want to know what I can do..?

It's unlikely that you have that type of cancer at your age. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it is more likely to be something else. But, if it is really worrying you, make an appointment with another doctor, just to get a 2nd opinion. My periods were really weird during my teenage years, and I was always OK. Are you underweight for your age? Do you exercise a lot for sports or otherwise? I tried doing sports plus martial arts my freshman year. I was exercising so much and my doc. Said that was why my periods stopped for a few months. Once I cut back to normal exercise, they came back. If it were me, I would go to another doctor and share your concerns. Make sure you take the previous test results with you. Chances are you are just find, but if you go, you will at least have peace of mind. Good luck!

Well thanks for the advice. I'm not underweight at all. And I'm not into sports. But I am just like 5 lbs over weight lol. I'll go see another doctor this Christmas break when we're out of school. Then I'll see what's going on... Thanks again! :)

Remember that there are lots of benign (not cancerous) reasons your period could be irregular. Mine were wacky all through my teens and I was always OK. It's good to see a doctor just so you're not worrying, so good for you. So many people let it go and worry and worry, and it's so much better to just go in and get it checked out. I'm sure you're just fine. Enjoy Christmas! :)
