Questions about child custody and rights and supports
I need help, I have two children they are 5 and 4 years old. I had all rights to my children when I was 20 I signed over guardianship rights of the boys to the father because at the time I was doing everything by myself and I needed help so I thought that was the right thing to do, so the boys stayed with his parents and when they need to take them to the doctor or wherever they h ad to get permission from me if they couldn't reach me theyd call their father when they couldn't reach their father they told me that it was a hassle for them because they needed or permission etc. well in the state of Georgia we have what's called peach care for kids and its insurance that your child can get after medicaid at the time I didn't know anything about it and no one was willing to help me with any information so I just let it be (dumb on my part) well a few moths or so later my ex's parents said that I needed to sign these papers so the boys could have insurance(for insurance purposes only) well ever since I signed those papers it said something about paying child support and getting to see the boys every other weekend et.c well then I knew I had been scammed but also since then they have not let the boys come to my house when I call they never answer the phone or give me the run around all the time. My youngest sons birthday was October the 13th and I was told only family wasy invited but yet I was not and I'm their mother... as far as the papers go I never received a copy of what I signed ever even after I asked for another one thinking that they might have not sent it I never received that one either. I haven't seen my kids since October its now almost the end of December and this has been going on for a while now. How do I go about getting them back

You need to get an attorney.

A guardian is someone who can make decisions for a minor. So it doesn't make sense that you would have signed guardianship over to your in laws and they still would have to consult you for medical decisions.

You should never sign anything without understanding what you are signing. You need to get an attorney to find out what you signed and what your rights currently are.
