    Bottle in toilet
:( As the toilet was flushing, a small (approx 3") plastic spray bottle of room deodorizer fell off the shelf and into the bowl. I wasn't fast enough and it disappeared. The toilet flushed OK for the first day, but now seems sluggish. The other toilet in the house flushes OK. I'm planning to call a plumber, but wondering where this bottle might be and what can I expect that the plumber will do? Is it possible that the bottle is somewhere deep in the plumbing system ( I hope not, I'm a renter ) rather than just somewhere in the bowl/trap? Thanks for your help.

The bottle is most likely caught in the toilet bowl trap. If the plumber can't auger into it and pull it back he may have to pull the toilet and go in from the bottom to clear the bowl. Good luck, Tom

This isn't a job that requires much skill so the average DIY person should give a toilet rod a try before calling in the pro. You can buy one for about $20 or rent at HD for $5. The biggest draw back is a can is hard for an auger to get a grip, it will not snag. Pull the toilet and working on it upside down is your next low skill job.
