Furnace Blower Motor will not turn on.
After a week away from home to deal with a funeral I come home only to discover the blower motor in the furnace will not turn on either by auto or manual on the thermostat. I go into the attic and pretend to know what I'm looking for but do not. The circuit diagram is not very ledgable on the inside door panel and it's been 10+ years since I had to read a circuit diagram so I am not sure what I am looking for.

When I am in the attic I had the wife set the thermostat to either heat or cool, set fan to on (manual) and I hear a click but no movement from the fan (squirrel cage I think is what it is called). Based on the pictures I'm posting, could someone kindly tell me where I should start poking my volt/ohm meter in order to find out what my problem is? I can call a professional, however, I would like to attempt this myself.

    Thanks kindly.

Chances are you have a bad blower motor,, looking at all the dust ant lint, somewhere along the line the filter has been neglected, be sure when you replace the motor you replace the capactor also

My neighbor a few houses down is some kind of HVAC tech for a refridgerant company. He looked at it and found something wrong with the fan control switch? Something in a small box between the furnace and the A/C Condernsor Coil. He made some kind of adjustment and it fixed it. I tried to turn fan to manual and wouldn't come on. Set back to auto, went up stairs, rotated the dial clock wise a little and the fan kicked on.

What should I know about that part?
