    Final Chemistry Review moles
Please someone help me with mole conversions

Problem one- How many representative particles are there in 1.45 g of a molecular compound with a gram molecular mass of 237 g?

How do I set this problem up to solve?

This is the equation you need to learn of by heart and rearrange as you require:

amount (moles) = Molecular Weight (g/mol) x mass (grams)

    Then you'll be sorted!

    EDIT

One mole = Avogadro's number (approximately 6.02214×10^23) of particles

first, find out how many moles there are.

1.45/237 = .00612 moles of that particular compound

in each mole of any compound, there are... how many particles? Avogadro's number, that's how many.

so in 1 mole of any compound, there are 6.022 x 10^23 particles of that compound.

you have 0.00612 moles of it, so multiply

    0.00612 x (6.022 x 10^23)
