    Replacing tiolet
I'd like to know if there is a way to replace the cast iron part that my toilet sits on on bolts down to? It has rusted away and the old home owners raised the floor only in the bathroom so we removed /busted up that concrete so now the toilet sits up about one inch to high any feed back would be great!

That part is the flange. If the drain pipe is cast iron you can install a new flange for about $18. Easiest would be an Oatey Twist-N-Set which slides inside the cast and then three bolts swell a gasket. There are other versions similar to this one that actually screw into a rubber collar that rises up and makes a gas tight seal.

How would I remove the old flange from the pipe to install the Oatey Twist-N-Set and will it be flush with the new floor we lowered or will it still be to high? Thank you vicki

You should be able to cold chisel the old flange of the cast iron pipe. It is held with oakum and lead. I'd dig at the lead with a narrow wood chisel and try to pry it out, once removed you can pick at the oakum with needle nose pliers. I have had some luck crewing in a fat wood screw and then pulling out the screw with channel lock pliers. If the iron pipe is above the floor you will need to saw it or chisel it flush with the top surface of the floor. The Twist-N-Set top surface will stand 1/4" above the floor.
