240 volt to 30 amp or 40 amp
I am connecting a 240 volt convection oven using a double pole 30 amp but the oven heats but never reaches full temp. It's a brand new oven.

    Please we need more information:

Make and model of oven. From the specs page, the Peak or maximum Amperage.

Did you take a meter and verify your voltage at the oven? You verify the voltage by inserting the meter probes as follows:

Back to one vertical slot, red to the other = 240VAC. Black in left vertical slot, red in center = 120 VAC. Black in right vertical slot, red in center = 120 VAC.

Replacing a 240 volt outlet with a 120 volt oulet [ 1 Answers ]

We've switched to a central air conditioning system and no longer need the 240 volt outlet by the dining room window. The house was built in 1928, updated in 1957, and again a couple of ad hoc times thereafter. The wiring is at times very old, brand new or somewhat old. My guess is that the 240...
