"The Line: A relationship health-check for now and later"
Every relationship has that invisible, all-important, self-preserving boundary we all know as "The Line..."

I see a lot of people on here in tough relationships MOVE the line when they are in love, or obsessed, or just tolerant, or scared, or bored... or... well, you get the idea.

People are never 100% sure where the line should be in a relationship sometimes.

You let your lover cheat and come back, or break-up a few times and come back, or yell, or lie, and you ask yourself is this right?

Then you see someone else's line being something as small as leaving the toilet seat up one too many times - and it looks equally absurd - yet admriably perhaps secure in their place in the relationship :-)

Keep an eye on The Line. If you are fair to your partner and yourself - it can make you and them happy in where you draw it. Takes practice, self-respect and compromise.

So, if you have found yourself on this site do you think you are fair in where you put the line? And if so, did you keep moving it out of insecurity? Is it what landed you here?

Here's my idea of "the line"

    Cheating- not happening, it's over
Calling mean names or hitting- is done
Taking relationship mutual money if it's gotten to that serious of a point without saying something- it's over

There's a couple other things that could be deal-breakers but mostly just those.

I would. But then a) I'm not the jealous type and b) I do it so I don't want to be a hypocrite.

    Ha!

Yes, so self-esteem and trust play a part. You both have both. Good.
So, line is where it oughta be.

So many times that's missing. And trouble ensues.

I would not accept hbitual flirting with people really... it's rude and obnoxious. I don't care if he is a little flirty with some random stranger, but if it's some person I might run into or that we know, no way. Disrespectful.
