Floor drain in laundry has rocks? Init and is overflowing

Hi I read some posts about floor drains overflowing.. and I have an additional problem.. when my neighbour tried to clear it out ( he put a liquid gel down there) and then we put hot water.. As it drained down a bit he found rocks in it? Is this normal? :confused:

My basement floor drain (from the hole in the floor to the main drain, about 15 ft.) is slow & sometimes clogged. When the clothes washer drains, water comes up on the floor, & slowly seeps down. I had a problem a few years ago with tree roots & big flood damage, had the old tile drain replaced...

Clogged laundry basin, overflow pipe

Hi I've had problems with laundry sink(basement) we have the washer draining in it and it's overflowed several times. I tried to snake the overflow pipe but I believe there is a solid dirt plug, my guess is maybe tree roots or something. Also there is limited working space because of cabinets...
