Brand New GE side by water dispenser doesn't work.
I have a brand new GE Profile side x side reefer Model # PSF26MGWA that was installed today. The unit replaces another reefer that had a water dispenser that worked normally. The new GE Profile is getting down to temperature and producing ice. The water dispenser dispenses... finally.. about 1 or 2 tablespoons of water and stops. Any ideas?
I have had the filter in and out 3 or 4 times, reset the filter indicator, am sure the "lock" feature is not the cause, have held the water actuator for a total of several minutes to bleed any air out of the line.
In addition the freezer and refrigerator actual temperatures won't stay lit. Why? If I want the actual temp I have to push the pad, the actual (or set ) temperature will come on and time out in about 5 seconds.

Just asking but wouldn't it be faster and easier to phone the hotline for your new appliance and ask a professional seeing as you just received it today ? That is if you have your manual with pertinent numbers listed. That is what I would do.

I called GE Cares, an 800 number, frankly he wasn't much help. Concluded with a service call will be necessary. I will wait until tomorrow after 24 hours of operation , confirm the problems still exist and then make arrangements for a service call.

    Here is an up date:
Nov 21 the serviceman came, in summary... the water dispenser doesn't work! Ordered a new PCB and a new valve, to be delivered to our home. Scheduled a service call for Nov 27.
Nov 27 Serviceman came, no parts. Looked at our side by side, ice maker all frozen up and no longer makes cubes. I have to follow up on parts delivery. When they arrive I have to call GE and reschedule another visit. Seems to me, I'm doing the follow up work on a brand new appliance!
Nov 30 & Dec 4Parts arrived in 2 different shipments, service call scheduled for Dec 7. Will let you know the results.
