    What kinds of water shut off valves can be installed behind the wall of a shower ?

    Do you have access to that area? Any straight inline gate or globe valve would work if you can get to that spot, usually inside a wall. Shower shut offs are about as rare as honest politicians in Chicago. You don't need top shut down a shower except for mixer repair or remodling, very rare.
