I've let myself & peeps here down

Another weekend gone and I've been doing really well with No Contact. It's been a few weeks now. Unfortunately I've let myself down and the peeps here who have helped me for ages down also. I went out Saturday night and when I got in I had a mad moment and sent my ex a text saying "Take me back steph." I felt so bad in the morning I was hoping it was just a dream but I had to check my sent messages and it was there. It feels like I can't trust myself now if I go out and have a few drinks because of how I feel after it. Ive been out the last few weeks exactly the same but didn't send my ex anything. Oh man I feel so stupid and could just beat myself up right now.

So angry :(

Will I get better after this now?

Don't be so harsh with yourself. We have all been at a point where our weakness takes the better of us and done something that we still regret. The only thing you can do is keep up with NC and not think about it. Regroup and start again. Its not the end of the world. Keep your chin up. You will be fine!!

Chris, there is no one here who is perfect and many here who have done just what you did (myself included), but the main thing is that you learned from this. Don't beat yourself up rather look at what happened and chalk it up to after effects of a break-up. If your ex calls or texts you back, you simply tell her that you made an error and apologize. Then go forward.

Keep positive.

Hey, believe me I've done that same thing myself (I'm ashamed to say, more than once). Don't be hard on yourself, but just try to remember the way that this made you feel and maybe you won't be so tempted to give in to your impulse next time. Keep hanging in there. :)

She hasn't replied or called, I don't think she will, I don't really want her too either. I already feel like I've made myself look stupid to her, I'd feel even more stupid saying sorry I was a bit drunk I made a mistake. I don't know.

Hey Chris,

I think your being wayyy to hard on yourself. Never mind the "let down yourself and others in here", WE ARE GUYS!!

You care for this girl a lot obviously and anyone in your situation feels like bringing the stereo over and standing outside their bedroom window. I totally understand how you feel you've messed up or let yourself down, but that's just pride, most of us need a shot to our pride once and awhile anyway. Maybe this will be the action that moves you forward, you put it out there, if she does not respond than you have your answer and there is nothing left for you at this point in time.

I would'nt mention the drinking though, it sounds like an excuse, and even if you were drunk, they do say alcohol brings out the truth, and it really is the truth right, you want her back. You've said it, it was the truth, you let nobody down, and this may be the thing that moves you forward, that's not so bad is it?

She probably knows it was the drink to be honest, I mean wouldn't you lot? Saturday night at 1:30am first text received since 2 or 3 weeks ago from the ex who you dumped saying that and nothing else. I'm just dissapointed with myself more than anything else to be honest, I was doing really well.
