    wiring lights to fan
I have Hunter fans, I am installing light.
The fans are wired to a variable speed select switch.
I connected white (marked light) and black with white tracer (marked light)
The fan and light switch seem to be connected in parallel.
The fan and light switch work alternating switching the fan off and on, but no lights.

    I'm confused by your description.

The striped wire needs to be connected to whatever hot lead is controlling the lights. The lights will have their own pullchain switches, or whatever switch is in series with said hot leads.
