Have you tried doing something like the following search? It is easy to do yourself.

University United States Masters Biotechnology, Biomedical, Microbiology,Virology - Google Search

Also, this has been answered in several posts recently; if you enter "biotech" (or biomedical etc) in the search window at the top you'll get a lot of matches.

I agree with the above posts.

You need to be vested in your own school search and its not realistic to ask us to list all schools.. there are many.

If you are interested in grad school you need to think about what areas of work are interesting within the field and look for schools who have people with work that interests you.

For ex, I have training in chem and bio. I did research as an undergrad and the research led me to be most interested in a few areas of work, some that crossed over into the biotech field.

Then I looked in a few places to get an idea of schools. One important resource was the professors I had as an undergrad. They all had recommendations and opinions about what schools had good reputations and what schools seemed to please the students they sent there.

For ex, I knew the university of Wisconsin had trained several students they knew and they all loved both the school and the city. There were several other schools just like that.

The second source can be a listing/ranking service like us news... who "grades" the "top" schools in given fields.

usnews.com: America's Best Graduate Schools 2008: Complete Guide to Programs in the Sciences

You should be able to find reference books like the USNews rankings at a big bookstore. Your school library can also have it.

Now... for grad school you want a few things. A school that has a good reputation, a school that has work you are interested in, a school that has the funding and the resources for good, quality work and good facilities (meaning the labs aren't falling down, they have good equipment, etc), and you want to live in an area that you are willing to be for a few years... a couple for masters and more for PhD...

So once you do the footwork (asking opinions from professors and looking at school rankings) you can start to tailor your preferences.

I asked probably 30 schools to send me info on their programs. Then you look through the dept research. They'll have profiles on the diff profs and hopefully you can find at least a few that interests you. Id be hesitant to go to a school that isn't doing work you think is interesting or that has only one person doing work you'd like.

That should narrow your list down.

Then you look at things like admission requirements, cost, stipends (many grad school train you in turn for your teaching labs, at least until you get trained to do hardcore research), etc...

And you look at the city and what it has to offer you.

There's nothing better than visiting schools to get a feel for the dept and the facilities. One school I went to with a strong rep had half their labs in disarray. They were going to be doing some rebuilding, but in the time I wouldve been there it might have been less than great.

So there's a start. Its up to you now. Contact some schools and start looking through the packets. Talk to advisors or others in the field.. they have opinions about what schools are good.

Also, what do you want to do with the degree? Are you wanting to teach? Do research? Etc?

Are you not interested in the PhD?
