Hunting rights aren't what is taken away, firearm privileges are.
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is punishable by imprisonment at hard labor for 10 to 15 years without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence and a fine of $1000 to $5000. Discharging a firearm from a public road is punishable by a fine of $50, or jail not more than 30 days or both.

I'm not sure how you would go about getting firearm privileges back. Do you have a probation or parole officer you can call and talk to? They would be able to tell you yes or no and how you might be able to regain your firearm privileges, since it was a non-violent crime.

    Hello cb:

You gun rights are federal rights. The BATF is where you should start.
