    Dating birthday dilemma
K, here is the situation. I've known this guy for about 1 1/2 years. Immediately we were drawn to each other and have since become great great friends. We sort of dated awhile back, then I moved out of state for 4 months, now I'm moved back and we've hit the dating thing a little harder. We act pretty much like boyfriend/girlfriend but have never really made it official. Anyyyways, getting to the point, his birthday is in a week and I've been racking my brain for the past month on what to get him. Normally I'm good at keeping an ear out for "Oh that'd be cool to have." or "I want one of these." that come up in conversation. But he is the type of person who jokes around a ton and is always pointing out random crap "he wants". Most of the time he isn't serious. So I still don't know what to get him. I movie or CD isn't really that personal of a gift so I kind of ruled that out. He said he just wants to hang out just us- but I want to make it special since it's his birthday. Of course we will spend time together but I still want to get him something. Any ideas?? Also, it's his 22 birthday. If that helps any.

The only thing I can come up with is when he comes over we do his favorite food, beer, and rent his favorite movies to watch. Kind of lame I think but one of my guy friends said it would be something he would like from a girl...

Guys, (and gals) help me out here! Please and thanks!

I think your guy friend could be right. Keep in mind, he is a guy, he knows what they want. Make the day about him. Maybe do something you wouldn't normally do, for instance, if he liked football and you didn't, watch a game with him (or even get tickets to an upcoming game). If he did like football, you'd be amazed at how cheap you can get tickets sometimes. It doesn't even have to be the game coming up. Get the tickets for a game next month (they'll be cheaper) and just give it to him on "his day". If he isn't into football, maybe you can think of a different interest he has. Go the extra mile and have fun doing it! Good luck hon.
