:confused: I have a Day & Night gas furnace in the house I'm renting. When we went to have the gas turned on, we find out that if won't work because the motor is locked up. My landlord had someone come look at it and he said yeah the motor's locked up and he got us a motor but says he doesn't know how to wire it up. So here we are trying to wire this thing. We've had it wired to where the gas will turn on and off and the burners light and go out with the thermostat but something's not quite right because the fan or motor wants to run continuous and not cut on and off with the thermostat. We just can't figure it out. It's a little hard for us because we really don't know what some of the things are that the wires are coming from. What I'm trying to find is some kind of a diagram or even a picture of one that's wired correctly so we'll know what to do. I'd appriciate any input.

Well, unless the fan is running at high speed for heat and low speed for cool or not running at all or installed backwards, you don't have a motor problem.

Since the shaft was frozen, you very likely have fused contacts on the fan relay.
This may be an external relay, a replaceable PC board relay, the fan center or a furnace board.

It's anybody's guess. A picture and/or make and model of furnace might help. It might not. Use "Go advanced" to post pics.
