    Do I have to go and buy word?
    I have Microsoft works and have just written my cv on it,the web site I want to post it on won't let me upload it as it's not word,do I have to go and buy word now??

    See if you can use File>Save As and save as a Word DOC file. You should be able to and the site will accept that.

    If you cannot save as a Word Doc with MS-Works, you can download a copy of a free office suite at OpenOffice.org: Home. This office package is compatible with MS-Office, and will save in MS-Word format. As a bonus, it also does Excel and Powerpoint. I have used it as my only office suite on my desktop for a number of years.

    I should note that software package is free for personal use but not commercial use.
