How to refresh DIY Hair Color
Colored my hair using Excellence box color last week and it was a rich dark Mahagony brown (which I loved) and now it has faded to a lighter brown shade.

Is there any way I can refresh the color? Should I re-color it again? I want to achieve a warm darker tone.

    Please help. Thanks

If hair color has faded to a lighter color, you will need to re-color your hair again. To prevent your hair color from fading, try using shampoos and conditioners designed for color-treated hair. Also, you can use color enhancing shampoos to refresh and brighten your color.

You will need to use a 10-volume peroxide developer and your selected hair color in equal parts.

You can also get sort of "custom" shampoos where there is a small amount of dye mixed into the shampoo this keeps the color richer longer, you just used this shampoo once a week and your color will take longer to fade, you can get this shampoo from salons, they will put your exact color in it, I had a bottle when I dyed my hair red since red hair fades the most quick and I loved it, it was from aveda.
