    Difference with parents
    OK well see I like this guys that's 18 and I'm 16 not a big difference and we've liked each other for over a year but I always had a boyfriend when he asked me out and my mom doesn't like him well she doesn't know him and I want her to meet him but she refuses to and my dad he doesn't want me going out with a guy that's 18 and my nieghbors been helping out with this and my mom said she has no problem its just my father and I don't know what to do I've tried everything and I'm soooo scared to talk to my father cause my parents they just always yell at me for no reason so what should I do?

    Well the bottom line is that you've got to obey your parents and do what they tell you. I admit it is unfortunate that you can't talk with your father about why he feels the way he does. Your father may actually have legitimate reasons for distrusting this guy or at least the idea of you seeing him. If you and your father shared good communication skills you may be able to learn something from your father. Remember, your father was once an 18-year-old guy too and he's no doubt trying to protect you from the harm that could come to you if you don't keep your guard up. Unfortunately, not too many 16-year-old girls are savvy enough to realize this. But a man your father's age is. I am 44 years old and have 3 daughters myself so I make it a top priority to protect them from being hurt by unscrupulous teenage boys. And I used to be one myself. I'm certainly not proud of the way I was as I look back now but I am well aware of what's out there and as a parent it is my duty to protect my children by educating them about things that they haven't experienced and aren't aware of themselves. I'm sure that this is where your father's coming from. Unfortunately he's leaving out the "educating" part.
