    Staining cedar shakes
    Is it okay to stain new cedar shakes when the outside temperature is over 35 degrees but less than 45?

    The recommendation for most stains is above 50 degrees for the wood and the stain. You need to carefully read the application directions for your stain. My guess is not recommended.
