Hi There,

My dog is a 10 year old siberian husky and when she is inside she usually ends up messing in the house. We got her from a kennel when she was 9 so she messes in the house because that is what she did in her kennel. So she is currently outside in a dog pen with her doghouse. And we want her to come inside and live in here. But she messes in the house so we cant. So do you have any easy ways to housebreak her? Please Reply to me as soon as possible. Thank-You DogLover62.

Is meant for young puppies. The last paragraph talks about older dogs. Likely you have to crate her.

A dog that has not been crated since it was little, make take some work.
Start just putting its toys and treats in the crate. Praise it for going
in. If you have been able to trust it with any bedding, put that in the crate.
Feed it in the crate. This is also an easy way to maintain order at feeding
Time for more than one dog.

The fact the she is used to being in a kennel may work in your favor in crate training. Please follow labman's directions on his link. You pretty much have to start from square one with an older dog. If she was living in a kennel most of her life and learned to relieve herself where she "lived", please keep in mind that there is a possibility that you might not be able to completely correct this issue, no matter how patient and consistent you are. By the way, although I don't like to generalize about any breed of dog, Husky puppies are known for being one of the most difficult breeds to housebreak.
