    Affidavit of affixture
Purchased a manufactured home in 2004 and live on lease land in a 55 year old community. We paid cash for our home, however the title company issued us an affidavit of affixture(no title existed after that) however we are being taxed as personal property. Our problem is, we recently did a living trust and wanted to have it recorded and put into our trust. The county tells us that we have to go to the dmv, the dmv says title no longer exists and we should go back to the title company and have them straighten it out, the title company says we should go to the owners of our community because they insisted on affidavit of affixture or we could talk to a real estate attorney... how's that for passing the buck?? any advise:confused:

You can't affix a manufactured home to property you don't own, unless you are giving the land owner ownership of the home.

If the title was lost, you file for a lost title and request a new one be issued,

Opinion for my state, your attorney would be best bet

Affidavit of Affixture, I assume that's Michigan?
Michigan does has a process to undo the first affidavit . You will have to contact the Secertary of State for the corect forms. I believe the cost is around $100-200.
