Low water volume in toilet bowel
11 year old two story house. Three toilets two up one down. The two upstairs (Bemis) are ballcock work fine but the water in the bowels is much lower than what I am used to. Can not add water with bucket the level will still drop to a very low level. Is this due to wrong toilet for upstairs. Is the trap to large or something to do with venting. No leaks tank fills all the way on both but it is almost like using a fixture that has no water in the bowel ( not very fun). It could easily use three to four times the water and would still be at less than half to overfill

    Thanks.. :)

I don't think so. The only way for a bowl level to drop the way you describe is a factory drfect or the trap design in a Bemis toilet. Sometimes in casting the bowl there is a small bubble in the china. Instead of junking the bowl the manufacture will put a porcelain patch over the hole and send it on through. On occasion the patch will fail allowing the water to seep out of the bowl. If that's the case you would have a full bowl after you flushed and the bowl filled but some time later you would notice a drop in the bowl level. The only other thing might be if you dropped something in the bowl and cracked it. If you're worried about where the water's going, in both cases it drains back down into the sewer and not under the bowl on the floor. To check the bowl must be pulled, filled and put up on saw horses. You can thes see if there's any leakage from the bowl. But since this affects both toilets I have to go with door number two. Is this a condition that just started or has it been on going? Regards, Tom

I have recently installed a new toilet upstairs, and the water level in the basin is constantly too low. When the toilet is flushed, the water disappears very quickly, and then goes back slowly to its original level. The other toilet I've installed in the room next door works fine. Both soil pipes...
