Can a liver transplant recipient have only ONE glass of red wine?
Just as the subject says... I would like to know if I can have a casual glass of red wine when having dinner or going out with friends. I have had a liver transplant in March 2006 and since then, I've been really healthy and didn't have any wine... but I am really missing it. Just one glass on a special occasion?

What has your doctor advised you?

Some people here may say yes, yet others may say no, but you have to understand we are not medical professionals, nor are we your particular doctor. We don't know your history.

While it may be possible for some, it may not for others. You really need to consult your doctor on this one.

And CONGRATULATIONS on a successful transplant!!

I, too am a liver transplant (6/30/2007) and have been advised by my hepatologist that an occasional glass or two is fine. Ain't life Grand!

Red wine storage [ 14 Answers ]

Red wine. Some people after opening it store it for long periods. I have opened a bottle of wine but there is no way I am going to drink it all at once.
