    Weired noise
I am not sure just what folder to post this in so I picked this one. I hope someone can give me a clue.
My problem. I keep hearing a peeping noise. It isn't just me because my son also hears it. Sounds like a smoke detector when the battery is about to die. You know that cherp noise every few minutes. I live in the first floor. At first I thought it was the smoke detector from the second floor because I didn't install any smoke detector on the first floor. So I took off the battery from the smoke detector, but it still peeping . Then I shuted off the electricity for the first floor, it just didn't work. I just don't know what it is. For the past four days, thing's getting worse, before it was just one cherp noise for every 30 to 40 seconds. But now the noise has changed, it became nonstop. But seriously does anyone have any clue as to what this could be? I sure would appreciate any suggestions. I don't even know who to call out to investigate the problem.
    Thanks all

It could be anything electronic, or batterey operated... I'm not sure as I am not an expert. I suggest that you find a neighbor, friend or a "handy man' who has some knowledge in general who may be able to help you further.

Sorry I can't be more help... tried.

    It will drive you crazy.
You need to note the time it chirps, then the next chirp. It will give you an idea of the frequency of the offending device(every 90 seconds?)then it will be easier to locate.
Move to different areas and hear chirp difference, turn head. Good Luck
Most smoke detectors can be turned, removed and unplugged to verify not chirping, safely.

If you are lucky It may be interconnected, so when one detector sounds, they all sound, try push on smoke detector where it says "Push to Test" maybe you can hear it more easily in Alarmed Condition.
