    Bathroom sink cartridge removal
I just purchased a foreclosure property. The original faucets, probably 25 years old have no identification marks on them. They look like a Moen. After removing the handle and retrainer clip, I am stuck. Holding the cartridge in is what appears to be a round insert that has 25% cut out on each side, kind of like a circle with two opposing areas erased. I am fairly sure that a tool slides into it to loosen it so the cartridge can then be pulled. Is there anyone with a suggestion. This thing is really leaking badly.

Thanks in advance and God Bless you,

    John

Try using a large adjustable crescent wrench. Moen has a proprietary wrench too.

Yeah, you should be able to apply the proper size wrench or crescent to the flats and unscrew it. With a little luck, a good hardware store, Ace, True value, etc. can match it, brand unknown.
