    error with filesharing
    Hello Experts,

I have 2 computers connected wireless with a wireless router to dsl-internet. The first computer is a desktop what is in a workgroup named home. The other is a laptop from university that works with a domain: campus.tue.nl
Both computers have internet, and ping each other.

The desktop-computer is connected to a printer, that I want to use with my laptop. But when I want to connect with the laptop to the desktop I got the message: HOME IS NOT ACCESSIBLE. YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO USE THIS NETWORK RESOURCE.. . blahblahblah... THE NETWORK PATH WAS NOT FOUND.

It's not possible to change the domain of the laptop, because there are some programs on the laptop who will connect with a vpn-client to the university. When the laptop is changed to a workgroup, I can't use these programs and have turn back to the university to connect to the domain again. I did that once.

On the desktop I have norton internetsecurity 2007, an the laptop mc-afee virusscan enterprise 8. I've tried to turn them both off, but no result. On the desktop I set this laptop to trusted by ip.

I also set the value of everyoneincludesanonymous to 0.

I hope anybody can help me connecting my computers together. At this time I have to plug in the printer to the laptop and then the desktop again the laptop and then the desktop again the laptop and then the desktop again the laptop and then the desktop...
    this is not workable.

    Greetz,
    Iwan

That's exactly my setup here at home: home computer on a workgroup and work laptop set to a domain. Never the two shall share unfortunately. The key would to get them on the same workgroup but I'm sure your laptop is locked down and you can't do that.

My laptop is not locked down. But when I set the laptop to the workgroup, I throw myself out of the tue-domain. So the programs that have their licence on the university, I can't use anymore. When that is happened, I have to go back to the university with my computer to activate the domain again.

Yep, that's right. You really can't change the domain to workgroup if that computer is going back on your corporate network. My laptop stays configured to the domain but at home I can get internet access through my wireless but no file or printer sharing will happen.
