I've attached a PDF showing the layout I'm working with. The items in red are what I would like to add (for a new bar sink). From what I've read online and with checking with local plumbers and since I'm more than 3-1/2' from the main 2" drain line (and I'm using 1 1/2" pipe), I have to vent the horizontal line that I'm adding (which is approx 65" from the bar sink to the 2" main drain).

At my local hardware store, I purchased a "Sure-Vent" which they told me I could install in the horizontal drain that I'm adding. The sure vent must be within the 3 1/2' of the trap and it must be at least 4" above the trap or the horizontal drain.

Does this sound correct? Anyone else ever use one of these sure vents? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Your layout looks fine to me. Do it yourselfers use these vents all the time when running a outside vent is all but impossible. Good luck and Happy Easter, Tom

I'm not a plumber. From what I understand, the purposes of vents are 1) to vent gasses & keep our houses smelling fresh and clean, and 2) to prevent traps from being sucked dry as a vacuum is created behind flowing water. In your drawing, I don't see any toilets on that line - as should be the case for a 2" line. It is my understanding that the larger rush of water from a toilet is the main culprit in drying out a trap. If my logic is correct, then it would support your plan of using the Sure vent even if they are not as effective as the one a plumber would put in on a new install. Just my two cents.
