When is the right time after having sex to take a pregnancy test? When is the earliest? My last period was start Oct 9. but yet no period. I take a urine test I took came out negative. Am I pregnant?

Take a pregnancy test generally the day you miss your period or after. The hormone that the pregnancy test detects doubles every 72 hours, so test again in a few days. If it is still negative but no period comes, call a doctor for a blood test or to determine what is going on.

You could be pregnant if you had any kind of sexual genital contact with a man, yes, and the test may show up negative at first, but later show up positive as the hormone level increases in your urine and blood.

You were okay in taking the pregnancy after you missed your period. But early on in pregnancy, it is very common to get false negatives.

I would wait until you are a week late, test again, if negative and still no period call your doctor to get a blood pregnancy test.
