    Marble vs. granite for counter tops?
    What are the pros and cons of marble vs. granite for counter tops?:p ;)

    Granite: Granite is much harder than marble and in many cases a lot more dense limiting the amount of water or stains that penetrate. Granite does not have calcium and therefore will not etch with acids like marble will. It is low maintenance.

    Marble: Marble is preferred only because of its looks meaning the veining and many choices in color. Marble is high maintenance, it stains and scratches easy. Marble can be polished easier than granite.
