    Central Gas Heater will not go on
    Heater does not go on after switching on the thermostat to heat. Only hitting the top of the heater firmly will it to go on. Any thoughts why it's not going on as it should from the thermostat controls?

    Sounds like a loose connection if you have to hit it to make it come on. I would look for a loose wire.

Central Heat will not come on unless I flip the breaker on and off in my garage. Then it will stay on until it reaches the temp set on thermostat. Then it shuts off and will not come back on, unless of course... I trip the breaker again.
