    Tile and a shower unit
I'm in the process of remodeling my basement, and have turned my efforts to the bathroom. I’m going to be installing ceramic tile on the floor (the kind that looks like slate) and I will be installing a 1 piece 4x4 gel coat shower unit. My question is what comes first? Do I tile the floor completely and then install the shower on top of the tile or do I install the shower first and tile up to it?

    Thanks

Well all I can think of is if you ever decide to replace the shower and the new one is a little bigger or smaller, it won't hurt anything if you originally tiled the whole floor.

The shower stall is 30 deep by 31 wide and the drain is not in the middle of the stall. There is a couple of inched difference between the bathroom floor and the shower floor. I assume there is some kind of base that will need to come out when I tear the tile out. Does anyone make a muti-piece...
