Arkansas education rights as a noncustodial parents
I'm curious as to what are my rights to my son's education as a noncustodial parent. He is performing below grade level and when I try to make a suggestion or say that I'm working with him on my designated time with him all his mother states is that I should have fun with him because he has a learning this... (ADD) and it's OK. I personally don't feel that it is because he doesn't know basic life skills that he should have known in K and he's seven in the 2nd grade

You can during your time with him work with him to improve his education, but unless the other parent is working and doing it when they have the child, I am not sure how much this extra work will do.

Unsure what you are asking... Is it okay for you to work with him when you have him? Sure it is... Are you wanting to enroll him in some type of tutoring program? Are you wanting to speak with his teachers?

As for the mother... she really shouldn't use the excuse that he has ADD as a reason for him falling behind. I understand that ADD can be a barrier, but the more he is worked with, the better he will be. However, you can't make her do it.
