    Whistling Kohler Sink Sprayer
We have a Kohler sink spray that whistles only when used with hot water. The cooler the water gets, the more the whistle diminishes until it stops whistling completely. Why is hot water causing this to happen, and can it be remedied? Thanks a million!

That doesn't answer my questions, Doug... I could've come up with the "call Kohler" answer, myself! Why is hot water causing this to happen, and can it be remedied (by anyone other than the manufacturer)?

Well maybe you should call kohler. I called them and in 5 minutes I found that if your faucet is made after 1997 it has a lifetime warranty to the original owner and the parts are shipped free. The rep said the model number is on a tag on the cold supply line and that likely your problem is the diverter. 1-800-4kohler [1-800-456-4537]

JohnnieBoy- I was Going to susgest the (diverter) also. I agree fully with DOUG, also if that is'nt it check to see it your hot water tank is set up high, if it is getting water to hot,the pressure will cause pressure to come out with faucet on and cause a wisteing sound and decrese as pressure drops Good Luck, Don't TRY TO BE SO HARD ON SOMEONE THE NIXT TIME ( DOUG WAS ONLY TRYING TO HELP YOU <>AS I AND EVERY ONE ON HERE DOES ) F.B.E.

Thanks PlumberJames83, but the faucet warranty doesn't apply to the sprayer.
Thanks for the suggestion, Flying Blue Eagle, but it wasn't the hot water tank; the whistling only happened with the sprayer, never with the faucet... Also, it didn't happen with the sprayer that was recently replaced, so I knew it had to be an issue with the sprayer, itself.
I called Kohler, and they said that as long as it's functioning, they would leave it "as is." I finally got the plumber who installed this sprayer (the old one that this one replaced worked fine, but it wasn't gold like the faucet, etc.) -- he tightened everything up, and it no longer whistles. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to understand his English, so I can't tell you his assessment of the problem!!
We have three sinks in our kitchen, and all three have sprayers, and this was the only one that whistled -- but at least it's fixed, so that whenever someone uses it now, it doesn't sound like the tea kettle's ready for tea! :o)
