Just got a Hunter Thermostat my old one s wires are R,G,Y,W,B. the new one is G,RC,RH,Y/O,W/B,Y1. How do you wire this one I wired it like the instruction and AC works but NO Heat?? Help

No its electric heat & AC

Do you have the red wire jumpered to both RC and RH? If you have the white wire on W/B, try it on Y1 or vice versa. While you have it off, try connecting the red and white wires. If the furnace doesn't start a heat cycle, the problem isn't at the thermostat.

The instructions say on 5 wires take the jumper off and red and white togeather does nothing, but it worked until I unhooked the other thermostat.

Check your transfomer,, should have 24 volts coming out,, if not,, needs replacing,this is what gives you low voltage for the controls

The red should be hot from the transformer. If connecting it to the white didn't start a furnace cycle, something is wrong at the furnace, likely you have lost the control voltage. Newer furnaces have a fuse on the control board. If you need help locating it, see https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/heatin...ons-58313.html There is also a good explanation of thermostat wires. To get heat, you must have a hot wire from a transformer connected to RH. It can either be the same one as connected to RC, or another wire from a second transformer. Since the old thermostat didn't have RH & RC, the wire to B likely was a common some thermostats need for power. Check at the furnace and see if it is connected to com.
