Just thought I would stop in and say hi.
I have been MIA for a while, I know.
My computer crashed at the end of August and we just got a new one last week.
Going to the library to pay bills online stinks bad enough - trying to catch up with everyone here is worse (no privacy)

So, Anyway, Hello to all my online friends, I HAVE MISSSED YOU!

Everything is really good. The job is good. It's easy work - but it is a balancing act. I never really realized what other families with 2 working parents go through.

My daughter is good at giving a guilt trip. "why do you have to go to work and not spend time with me.?"

Awwww... you know she loves you then. It is hard to have two parents work. I don't know how you ladies get everything done, I would be up way past bed time getting things done if I worked. Do you still like the job though? Or are you having second thoughts?

I do like the job. It is a nice change of pace. Being around other adults is nice.

I do have days where I have this overwhelming feeling of not liking people very much. I guess I am strange - but I ALWAYS say please, thank you, have a nice day.. etc... to people. The girl at the check out, the bagger or the dry cleaner. Anyone I come in contact with.
So many people out their have forgot their manners. It just amazes me. Then you get the people in that are a sweet as pie and you feel better about the human race. :)

You know I am having a problem and my little heart is having a hard time making a distinction between right and wrong...
As you all know I do daycare. I know this is a time of year that everyone seems to be broke (so to speak) but if I don't get paid, then I will be too! One ladies cell phone is shut off, has no heat right now. She said she will bring half the money today... and the rest on Friday... I know she is struggling. Dustin is gone and busy with football, I told her to come over with the girls and I will cook her a hot meal and at least she can be warm here... Oh dang, I told her that I have been where she is, I know how it is... my little heart was breaking for her but at the same time I feel so selfish for taking the only money she has... Ohhh man... I almost don't want to, but know that if I don't, my whole budget and planning will be off... that won't be good down the road! So help me out here lovely friends... PLEASE

Well, this is going to sound awful - but here goes.

You are not running a charity - you are running a business. And why? To provide for your family. So, you need to take your payment.
Now, if she is really hitting it hard, there are places that she can take her kids to that won't cost her anything. I know you don't want to lose the business, but if she can't pay you, are you losing anything?

Now, with that "business" out of the way, inviting her over for a warm meal is great. And we should always do that kind of thing if we can. Everyone hits the hard road sometimes. And allowing her to work out a payment plan is showing heart - because there are those out there that won't. Don't feel selfish for putting the needs of your family first.

Mornin albear... I think you are swell too... LOL
NowWhat, I really needed that, thanks. I don't mind feeding and helping people I really don't. But I do mind if three out of five parents tell me they can't pay yet or have to pay later... that just means they are going to stay like that till after Christmas... So I guess I need to rethink the arrangements...

Start I don't know precisely what her financial problems are but if she is in dire need and her heat is off and she has children. Then please suggest social services to her, they have emergency help available for situations like this.

I know Stringer, I have suggested help, she just started a divorce a while ago, and it all started crumbling from there... Something about her being paid under the table by her dad and what not, stops her from getting help. I don't know, I love her girls, and she is a good lady. I knew it the first day we met, but I feel I can only do so much and babysitting for free isn't one of them... sad but true.

No, but for some reason I can make the same noise with my hands, so no need to stick my hands in my arm pits
