How do I wire an antique chandelier?
    Hello,
I have just purchased an antique chandelier. I am about to install it and have just realized that there is no colour differentiation with the wiring on the chandelier (i.e. no black/white wires). The chandelier has 2 off white coloured wires (assuming it's due to the age of the light). Does anyone know how I connect these wires appropriately?
    Many Thanks!

One should have a ridge or ribbs, that is neutral and goes to the white. Other goes to hot wire(May be black, red, yellow, orange, or most any color except green, white or gray.
If you have continuity tester center pin is the hot. Threaded part should have continuity to Neutral.

3-wire home, 3-wire fan, 2-wire remote [ 9 Answers ]

Greetings, My home is 3-wire. I bought a Hunter ceiling fan (model 23811). The fan came with a remote assy. That I do NOT want to use... The fan has standard 3-wire connections (black, white, blk&white strip, ground). The remote receiver home-side wiring looks to be for 2-wire (blk and white)....
