    Did I buy a clunker?
While I haven't had any major motoring issues with my 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport (yet!), there are enough small issues that are very frustrating and my attempts to get satisfaction from Jeep have failed:
--My air conditioner has gone out twice, the first time in 2005-it was the clutch-and the second time now earlier this summer and it's still out (too expensive to fix right now). Not good when you live in the South! It's the same problem. I was told that the part only is good for about a year.
--Some of the plastic has come loose, both early on in the purchase and also more recently, such as the large part under the glove compartment, the side piece on the passenger dash, and part of the right flare fender is still off since being lopped by a piece of metal in the highway. I didn't report these.
--The motor in the rear wiper died earlier this year. I didn't report this because I knew what I'd be told... (see next)
--the left passenger window's motor broke and the window wouldn't stay up. I rarely use this compared to the front but I was told that I had too many miles when it spontaneously broke last summer.
--Monday the right passenger window's motor broke and again, Jeep told me I had too many miles, so I was out of luck.

I understand the issue of high mileage-124,000, it's my only vehicle-but there are some things that should not be as affected, as these rear window motors. It's not like it's the tires or even the front window motors. I almost hold my breath waiting for something bigger to break. I don't take it to the dealership-I'd had them check out the engine light being on and was told I had 5 cracked and rotted hoses a few years back. I insisted on getting them back and there wasn't a thing wrong with them. I wasn't charged for their gaffe but Jeep wouldn't step up at all.

So what can I do? This just doesn't seem fair.

The people responsible are not Jeep, but instead the dealer you bought it from. The dealerships offers warranties and such, and if you believe you have a lemon, you need to talk to your dealership.

Unfortunately, the dealership isn't going to help. It's been too long, I've already gone around with them about those hoses and they just don't take responsibility. It started badly when I bought the car-a whole new story-and when I wrote Jeep then, they passed the buck back to the local dealership. Someone has to care!

Well Jeep doesn't take responsibility for used cars, you'll never get anything from them, my father used to work there and they don't deal with cars after they are fairly used. I would suggest taking it to a mechanic to see if there's a reason why all these things are going wrong that may be a long-time in the making, something the dealership would have to pay for?

Sorry about your car troubles, I know it's the worst.
