Well my ex broke up with me for another guy and she said she wanted to be friends, a week later she calls and we talk for hours and since then she calls me about once a week and we talk all through the night

If she wanted you back, I think she would say so, especially since she is the one who broke up with you. But you can ask her what all the conversation is about.

I have an ex who does the same. It's been 2 years since split and she is one of my best friends. Would still like to get together if you know what I mean but it won't happen. We love each other as friends. Albeit Very close friends. Confronted her about 2 months ago and talked about whether we will be together. She said no I moved forward and found someone new, could tell she was cut deeply but we still talk once a week.
Actually I get on really well with all my ex's except the last antichrist I had. Split 14 times in 18 years. Never want to here her voice again unless it's HHHHEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPP as she's falling from a cliff. LOL.

If you want her back, do not indulge her with these phone calls.

Unless you're happy that you are now her 'friend' (and only that.)

Sorry dude, but you have to disappear go out improve yourself and date other women. Immediately.

Then when she calls you tell her sorry I am a little busy, I'll get back to you and leave it for a few days.

Then you steer the conversation and then you end the conversation abruptly. "Nice talking, I have to go I've got lots to do."

Distance. Give her the gift of missing you.
