    Run furnace all day?
    Hi,

I just installed a high efficiency gas furnace (Carrier Infinity 96) with variable speed blower motor. To save energy costs should I allow the system to run continuously at low speeds during the day when I am at work or use the timer to turn it off in the morning and on in the late afternoon? The tech stated I would save money by just leaving it on at a constant temp.

    Thanks!:)

It would be best to try both to see which way is really the best. Usually when you shout the furnace down or just turn it down for a part of the day you will see some energy savings.
