I am istalling a marble shower pan. Do I install the drain plumbing to the tub before I set the pan in place, or do I wait until I have it set in and then install the drain as I hook into the drain lines?

I am getting ready to install 12x12 marble ming green tile in my bathroom. I kind of like the idea of not using grout lines. Are there disadvantages to not using grout lines? Will this be an issue on the shower walls? thanks
